Tax Office offers Extended Hours in April

The office is usually open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended hours during April will be: •Monday through Friday, April 7-14, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. •Saturday, April 12, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. •Tuesday, April 15 (tax due date), 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Montgomery Farmers’ Market, the class project from the Montgomery Citizens’ leadership Academy (MCLA) class of 2010, is lining up vendors, events and special features for a new season. The market opens its fifth season on Saturday, May 3, starting at 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Montgomery Elementary School parking lot on Montgomery Road.

In March of every year, Montgomery Citizens' Leadership Academy (MCLA) graduates set out to accomplish a class project at the end of their session as a means to practice the "Learn and Do" credo of the program. The MCLA Class of 2013 has worked tirelessly over the last year to spruce up and revitalize the 1999 Tornado Memorial site on the grounds of Sycamore High School as their gift to the community and to those who suffered from the impact of that natural disaster.

Interstate 71 lane closures scheduled for Friday, April 18

Pavement work will require lane closures on Interstate 71 beginning Friday, April 18. From 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, April 19, the right lane of northbound I-71 will be closed between Pfeiffer Road and the Deerfield Road overpass. During this same time, the ramp from Pfeiffer Road to northbound I-71 will also be closed.

The Loss of One of Our Own

While Friday January 24 began like any other here in Montgomery, it soon turned into a tragic day for our Montgomery family. Mike Brown, one of our very hard working Public Works team, died in an early morning auto accident in Stonelick Twp. Mike was heading into work when it happened and it shows us all how very precious life is and how everything can change in an instant.

Because Federal law prohibits the City of Montgomery from having direct access to IRS information, the City of Montgomery Income Tax Division has contracted with the City of Cleveland Central Collection Agency (“CCA”) to obtain federal income tax information to identify residents who may not have filed City of Montgomery income tax returns, and who may owe delinquent income taxes to the City of Montgomery.
